2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is the fastest American production car

In July, Chevrolet introduced its most powerful and fastest Corvette, the Corvette ZR1. Now, this car has reached a speed of 375 km/h (233 mph) on the track in Papenburg (Germany), which is the highest speed ever achieved by an American production car.

For over seven decades, the Chevrolet Corvette stands as a symbol of raw power and precision engineering, which continues to push the boundaries of what a sports car can be.

It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.5L DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine with 1,064 hp (873 kW) @ 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft (1,123 Nm) of torque @ 6,000 rpm, paired with a strengthened and recalibrated M1K 8-speed dual clutch (DCT) gearbox. This Corvette has a power-to-weight ratio of nearly 580 horsepower per ton, which makes it even better than the Bugatti Veyron.

On the 12.23-kilometer track in Papenburg, the new Corvette ZR1 showed that it can reach a top speed of more than 346 km/h, as claimed by the company. That’s more than enough for General Motors to announce that they have the fastest American production car to date.

This powerful car was driven by GM President Mark Reuss, and in the passenger seat was engineer Chris Barber (head of development of the Corvette ZR1) who after all said that the calmness and stability of the car made him feel like he was sharing the cabin with Reuss driving on the highway at a slightly faster pace.

The price of the fastest Corvette has not been announced, and some believe that it could cost around $170,000.

2025 Leapmotor B10 SUV

At the Paris Motor Show, the Chinese company Leapmotor presented its new SUV, the Leapmotor B10. It will arrive on the European market at the end of 2024 and is expected to cost less than 30,000 euros.

Sleek in design, the B10 looks like a combination of the C10 and Porsche Cayenne at first glance, with simple body lines, thin light bars at the ends of the front end and flat door handles. Photos of the car’s interior have not been released, and some believe it is a minimalist design with large screens on the dashboard, which is standard in new EVs.

The B10 is the third car from the Chinese manufacturer to come to the European market, after the T03 and SUV C10. It will be built on the LEAP 3.5 platform and will be offered as an all-electric version and an extended-range version equipped with a 1.5-L engine.

Details about the car are few, but what the company has said is that the B10 will be equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, a customizable digital cockpit and smart connectivity.

2025 Mini JCW Cooper and Aceman

At the Paris Motor Show, Mini premiered two all-electric JCW models, the Mini Cooper and the Aceman. These are the most powerful EVs of the British brand and will be produced in China.

Both models are built on the same platform and are powered by an electric motor positioned above the front axle with 258 hp (189 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. This means that they are 40 hp and 20 Nm more powerful than the previous most powerful all-electric Mini. However, using the boost function, the engine power is briefly increased to 285 hp (209 kW). The Mini Cooper reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds and the Aceman in 6.4 seconds.

Thanks to the 54.2 kWh battery, the Cooper has a range of up to 404 kilometers on a single charge, while the Aceman has a slightly shorter range of 391 kilometers. The battery is charged from 10 to 80 percent on fast chargers in less than half an hour.

European buyers can expect their cars from April next year.
