2025 Red Bull RB17 Hypercar

In 2022, it was announced that one of the top engineers and designers of Formula 1 cars, Adrian Newey, is developing a hypercar in collaboration with Red Bull, the RB17. Now the car has been officially unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

This two-seater is a blend of two decades of innovation in Formula 1, which helped Oracle Red Bull Racing win six constructors’ titles. Also, it is the most aerodynamic car in history, with a new diffuser and multi-functional active suspension that allows the driver to change the mechanical balance of grip between both axles, making it more comfortable than an F1 car and an LMP1 race car. Equipped with a carbon monocoque chassis, the car weighs less than 900 kg, and only 50 examples will be produced. Each will be introduced to the Red Bull family through a great customer experience, including a series of on-track events where car owners will get the chance to experience some of the world’s most famous tracks.

The RB17 is powered by a naturally aspirated V10 engine (around 1,000 hp) combined with an electric motor (200 hp / 149 kW) with a total power of over 1,200 hp, paired with a carbon gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels. That is enough to develop a top speed of 350 km/h and achieve lap times like a Formula 1 car.

Upgraded BMW M2 is more powerful than BMW M8

In June, BMW revealed the new generation of the M2 model as the most powerful version of this model. Before it goes into production in August, tuner company Dahler has unveiled a Stage 2 upgrade package for the current generation that takes this powerful car to the next level, making it more powerful than the BMW M8.

The tuner made sure that the Stage 2 package matches the 8-speed automatic and 6-speed manual versions, and after modifications the 3.0-L twin-turbo inline-six engine now delivers 630 hp (470 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm). torque. A new Eventuri carbon air intake, stainless steel exhaust system, new shock absorbers with rebound and compression adjustment options are installed, and there is also the possibility of height adjustment, and the suspension has been upgraded. Optionally, springs that further lower the car and brakes with the Stahlflex system are available.

Stage 2 also includes carbon fiber body parts such as a three-part carbon splitter, air intakes, new side mirror housings and a large fixed rear wing, as well as a new rear diffuser. The front grille is slightly different in design with a single horizontal slat, and a smaller lip spoiler is available as an option. The interior is equipped with a heated sports steering wheel covered with Alcantara, new floor mats, short shifter for manual gearboxes.

The cost of the Stage 2 package is not known.

BMW sales results in six months of 2024

2023 was a successful year for many companies when it comes to sales, and some continued on the same path in the first six months of 2024. One of them is BMW, which recorded sales growth in the first half of 2024, with over a million vehicles delivered worldwide.

BMW is still the leader in the segment of premium cars. According to the Bavarian manufacturer, in the first six months BMW sold 1,096,486 cars worldwide, which is a growth of 2.3 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Although the biggest growth was recorded in the sale of electric cars, and 180,000 of them got new owners (+34%), customers still mostly opt for cars powered by internal combustion engines and hybrids.

When it comes to competition, in second place in the ranking of premium brands was Mercedes-Benz, which, although it delivered around 960,000 cars worldwide, recorded a 6 percent drop in sales. Also, in the segment of battery cars, they sold only 93,400 units (-17%). Audi is in third place with 833,000 cars delivered, which is also a drop of 8 percent compared to the same period in 2023. In the segment of battery cars, the company based in England recorded a growth of 1.3%.

Speaking of models, the highest demand was for the 7 Series, which recorded a 22 percent increase in sales, and other models such as the 3 Series and X1 also achieved excellent results.

The highest demand was in their biggest market (Europe), where 460,144 vehicles were delivered (+2.6%), and a positive result was also achieved in the American market (+2.1%). In Asia, BMW delivered 493,364 cars (-3.6%), of which 375,947 cars in China, a drop of 4.2%.
